Samsung has officially revealed its Galaxy Gear Smartwatch, designed to pair with your smartphone to handle notifications, music playback, and of course timekeeping. But that’s not all that Samsung has tried to pack into the generously-sized case which measures 1.45 inches x 2.2 inches x .41 inches. It integrates a 1.9-megapixel camera, speaker and two microphones, which allows users to shoot 720p mini-clips and handle phone calls via its Bluetooth connection to your Samsung Galaxy device.
As for the viewing surface, the 1.63-inch screen boasts a 320 x 320 resolution and is also multi-touch, allowing navigation through swipes and taps like any other smart device. At present, the Galaxy Gear will be priced at around $299 and will only connect with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 at first, though Samsung has confirmed software updates in October to make it compatible with the S3, S4 and Note II.
